I recently found this video. It is from a news broadcast on Good Morning Colombus, giving a tour of the Longaberger factory. I found it interesting since I have never actually been to the Longaberger Factory before. I do hope to go some day though. I love that it actually shows people making Longaberger Baskets. As I watch it, it makes me so respectful of the people who make Longaberger baskets. It truely is an artform. The basket makers weave the baskets so quickly and flawlessly. I wonder how well I would do.

In a small saucepan stir together the sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Then stir in the apple cider or apple juice and lemon juice. Cook and stir the mixture over medium heat untill mixture is thickened and bubbly. Then cook and stir for 2 more minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in the butter or margarine till melted. Makes about 1 1/3 cups.

I have tried this Longaberger recipe, and it is very tasty. I used it as an apple dip. It reminded me more of a fall/autumn kind of recipe. It works perfect in the Longaberger chip and dip bowl. It has an inner dish for the syrup, and the outside ring to fill up with apples. If you do use the apple cider dip for apples, I recommend splashing the apples with lemon juice so they don’t turn brown. I want to try this on some other things too, maybe apple pancakes or apple bars?

I have Longaberger Woven Traditions dinner plates, mugs, and one bowl.  I love them all.  They are so durable.  I like the weight they have to them, I can really tell they are all made very well.  I have other plates made by Pfaltzgraff and they don’t even compare.  They have chips, nicks and scratches in them and they aren’t even that old.  That’s why I love Longaberger’s quality.  They take pride in their products and it really pays off in the end.  The sets are a little pricy, but like I said, if you put up the money, they really pay for themselves in the long run because you won’t have to buy new plates for a very, very long time.  All of the Longaberger pottery is oven, freezer, microwave, and dish washer safe.  Sometimes I put my leftovers right onto my dinner plate and right into the oven..hey, it saves a dish!  I love to mix and match the colors too.  I think its funny when I have people over, they love to pick out their favorite color of plate.  It just makes the party a little more fun.
