Have you ever wondered what it was like inside the Longaberger Homestead factory? Have you ever wanted a tour of the Longaberger Factory?

I recently found this video. It is from a news broadcast on Good Morning Colombus, giving a tour of the Longaberger factory. I found it interesting since I have never actually been to the Longaberger Factory before. I do hope to go some day though. I love that it actually shows people making Longaberger Baskets. As I watch it, it makes me so respectful of the people who make Longaberger baskets. It truely is an artform. The basket makers weave the baskets so quickly and flawlessly. I wonder how well I would do.

Longaberger Apple Cider Syrup

Apple Cider Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
4 t. cornstarch
1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1 cup apple cider or apple juice
1T. lemon juice
2T. butter or margarine

In a small saucepan stir together the sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Then stir in the apple cider or apple juice and lemon juice. Cook and stir the mixture over medium heat untill mixture is thickened and bubbly. Then cook and stir for 2 more minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in the butter or margarine till melted. Makes about 1 1/3 cups.

Longaberger Small Square Waste Basket

This basket was originally introduced in 1979 and retired in 2000. It is back again and even better. The new Longaberger waste basket the prettiest garbage can I have ever seen! I really hate those ugly white garbage cans with the pop up tops that people leave sit in their kitchen. Longaberger waste baskets are the perfect alternative. I have one in my kitchen and when I have people over, they are always asking “where’s the garbage can?” I point to the Basket and they are astonished because they have no clue that it was a garbage can! My only complaint is that it is a little small. its dimensions are 9 3/4″l x 9 3/8″w x 12 1/8″h…But I love this basket and I will never go to those ugly garbage cans again!

Longaberger on The King of Queens

I was watching The King of Queens (one of my favorite tv shows) the other night before bed. Doug and Carrie sat down to eat with their friends. On the table, it looked like they were using Longaberger plates and bowls. I hit the rewind button to see if I was right…Sure enough! It is good to see that even TV shows use Longaberger. The Woven Traditions pottery is the best pottery I have ever used. I also use Pfaltzgraff dishes, but they always chip.
